FANS offers bespoke after-school French classes for high school students, conveniently located at
the Forestville Community Centre beside the library.
 

Mondays 4:00pm - 6:00pm

L'Esprit critique

This new News & Current Affairs Workshop aims to develop students' critical thinking skills by discussing the world we live in through conversation, films, documentaries, and news reports. 

Topics discussed will include news and current affairs, past and current conflicts, geopolitics, social issues, and events that are impacting our world. 

This workshop is best suited for French background speakers from Year 7 and up, and is recommended for mature students due to its content.

Workshop classes are invoiced per term, and an annual commitment is requested.       

$390 per term x 4 terms = $1,560 per year

History Workshop

This exciting History Workshop focuses on introducing students to French history through conversation, films, documentaries and current events.

The Workshop is taught over 2 years, but students can join for either part:

Part 1:  Students learn about the French Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, the early French Republics and Colonisation.
Taught on even years (2026)

Part 2:  Two World Wars, the Cold War and Decolonisation.
Taught on odd years (2027)

The History Workshop is best suited for students who are French background speakers from Year 7 and up.

Workshop classes are invoiced per term, and an annual commitment is requested.

DELF Junior B1 & B2
exam preparation classes 

High school students will develop listening, writing and speaking skills to prepare for the DELF Junior exams.  

The DELF, Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française, is a diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education, via France Education International.

This diploma is internationally recognised, is valid for life, and opens opportunities to study in French-speaking universities around the world.

FAFANS has been teaching DELF exam preparation for many years and offers courses for both Anglophone and Francophone stream students from Year 7:
