 iter\, the inspirations behind her books\, and the stories that have shape
 d her remarkable career. The evening will explore her creative path\, her 
 books for children\, young adults and adults\, and how her multicultural b
 ackground has influenced her writing and perspective. Born in Indonesia to
  French parents and raised in both France and Australia\, Sophie Masson br
 ings a rich multicultural perspective to her work. She is the award-winnin
 g and internationally published author of more than 80 books for children\
 , young adults and adults. Her many accolades include the Patricia Wrights
 on Prize for Children’s Literature in the NSW Premier’s Literary Award
 s for The Hunt for Ned Kelly\, as well as an Aurealis Award for The Hand o
 f Glory. In 2019\, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (A
 M) for significant service to literature as an author\, publisher and cont
 ributor to literary organisations. Sophie has also held numerous leadershi
 p roles in Australia’s literary community\, including former Chair of th
 e Australian Society of Authors\, current Chair of the New England Writers
 ’ Centre\, and Director of the New England and North West region of the 
 CBCA (NSW branch). Alongside her writing\, she is Publishing Director of C
 hristmas Press and has been recognised through fellowships and academic ac
 hievements\, including a PhD in creative practice from the University of N
